RU OKAY DAY (How Can You Contribute?)
Thursday 8th September 2022 | R U OK? The day is a national day of action dedicated to inspiring all people of all backgrounds to regularly ask each other 'Are you OK?'

It's a national day of action which aims to prevent suicide by encouraging Australians to connect with someone they care about and help stop little problems from turning into big ones. On that day we want everyone across the country from all backgrounds and walks of life to ask family friends and colleagues: "Are you OK?". Staying connected with others is crucial to our general health and well-being. Feeling isolated or hopeless can contribute to depression and other mental illnesses which can ultimately result in suicide. Regular meaningful conversations can protect those we know and love. It's so simple. In the time it takes to have a coffee you can start a conversation that could change a life.
A CONVERSATION CAN CHANGE A LIFE
R U OK? inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life. You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. Start a conversation with these four steps: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen 3. Encourage action 4. Check-in
